Our Tennis Mixer Party on Sunday, September 26, drew over 40 players and raised over $300 for each of the USTA League teams attending the Nationals in Tucson, AZ. Tons of food and great door prizes brought everyone together at Berkshire West AC in recognition of their accomplishment, a first for Berkshire County. Many members of these winning teams started out with the Lee CTA and play with us throughout the summer. For photos and more about Deuces Wild and the Berkshire Marvels click here.

Over 200 adults played in the Adult League Programs this summer. The popular Monday night World Team Tennis league played on the six Lee Middle/High School courts. With 3 lighted courts, the players often stayed late into the evening. Morning leagues filled the two red clay courts at Greenock Country Club, a beautiful setting overlooking the golf course. Our league players were able to play on these courts well into the Fall.

The Sept. 1st US Open Trip was a sellout, as always. Two of our friends, Millie & Joanne, won the trip of a lifetime, guests for the day in the President's Box. No, Andre wasn't there this year; the pic below is from our 2004 trip, but this shows how close we get to the stars. Be sure to join us in 2011! more, plus Millie's report on the President's Box.

The August 28th Mixed Doubles Tournament Fundraiser drew 10 doubles teams, who played in 2 RR flights of 5 at Greenock Country Club and the Lee High School Courts.

Floyd Grossman & Thea Baker defeated Steve Glick & Janice Thomson for the Championship! A big thank you to all who participated, helping us raise over $600 for our youth programs.

Congratulations to our Lee CTA 14U Junior Team in their 4th place finish in the WMA JR Team Tournament! Coach DeWitt Thomson's Youth Tennis Program culminated with the weekend tournament for all WMA junior teams at Forest Park.  Thomson views this summer team tournament "as part of our summer tradition and kids gear towards that date, starting with their Saturday morning play in the Spring. The kids are aware that they'll be on a larger stage come Fall, they set their goals for the future - what do I need to work on?This is reflected in our successful local high school tennis program!

The  Women's Power Breakfast and Chester Theater & Luncheon this past summer were very enjoyable & delectable fundraisers thanks to volunteer Arlene Breskin.

The Special Olympics Program led by Bunnie Lahey last Spring was a great success with 24 participants, including a gold medal winner at the State Special Olympics in Boston!
